Aid abroad: who to support after the 2027 federal cuts
The Federal Council's relief package 2027 proposes to cut CHF 240m a year by 2029 from aid abroad. Here is what the cut means, and Zewo-certified charities in every canton that work on it.
What is cut
- CHF 234m Spending on international cooperation is frozen until 2030: SDC programmes in Albania, Bangladesh and Zambia end, and contributions to UNDP, UN Women, UNICEF and Swiss NGOs are cut. (measure 1)
- CHF 6m Cuts in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs' own and transfer spending. (measure 2)
