Where to donate in Zurich (Zürich)

The Federal Council's relief package 2027 proposes to cut federal spending by CHF 3.1 billion a year by 2029. Six of the areas it cuts are ones where donations reach people directly. For each of them, here are Zewo-certified charities that work in Zurich or are based there, and national ones where there are few local ones.

Zurich is one of the 10 cantons that lose federal money for high social costs (measure 55): the socio-demographic burden equalisation is cut by about a quarter.

The cuts are the Federal Council's proposal in its relief package 2027 (list of measures, dispatch to Parliament); Parliament can still change them. Amounts are for 2029, in francs per year. The organisations are Zewo-certified, picked from the Zewo directory by the fields, forms of help and cantons Zewo lists for them, as of October 2026; their descriptions are Zewo's. Chlotze is not affiliated with Zewo or any organisation listed and earns nothing from donations.
